The Garden Caravan

Every living organism plays a vital role in sustaining life on earth no matter how small they are. Snails are natural decomposers, breaking down dead plant and animal matter and reintroducing nutrients back to the soil. This process is essential for maintaining fertility and supporting growth of new plants. Through this process they also spread seeds by consuming and depositing them elsewhere. This can aid in establishing new plant populations.

This original measures 8” x 10” and is mounted to a cradled birch wood panel and was created with watercolor and oil glazes.

“Delicacy and beauty meet strength in this painting of a snail carrying a microcosm on its back. We love the visual message of this piece as well as how that message is conveyed. The choice and execution of medium tell this story as much as the imagery and color theory do.” — Wild Heart Gallery

This painting received “Overall Runner Up” & “Best In Category: Mixed Media” during Wild Heart Gallery’s “First Annual Animal Activism Open” international juried group show.
